Designing Planting Schemes

We design, source and supply planting schemes tailored to each garden and client. Our approach is collaborative and iterative — taking your initial ideas and developing them into a scheme that truly reflects how you want your garden to look and feel. We like to work closely with clients to develop ideas, build rapport and trust, and refine the design as the garden evolves.

Each scheme balances sustainability, beauty and practicality, delivering an initial impact whilst being planned to mature and improve over time. Designs are carefully tailored to suit your space, budget and long term vision, be it a new border, a kitchen garden, a woodland copse or something more. We work closely with a trusted local family run nursery Garden Sage to source and supply a fantastic range of high quality plants, shrubs, bulbs, hedges, trees and RHS-endorsed growing products.

Sustainability and Wildlife Friendly Gardening

Sustainability is increasingly important to us and how we garden. With every planting scheme and in our day-to-day maintenance, we strive to create gardens that are resilient, wildlife friendly and kinder to the environment — without compromising on beauty or enjoyment.

Wherever possible, we prioritise drought-tolerant and climate-resilient plants, helping gardens cope with hotter, drier summers. We encourage the use of native and near-native species, naturally adapted to local conditions and providing vital food and shelter for birds, pollinators and other wildlife.

We avoid chemical pesticides wherever possible, preferring pragmatic, preventative methods such as companion planting and encouraging natural predators.

Sustainable gardening isn’t about rigid rules — it’s about making informed, responsible choices, working with clients and the wider environment to create beautiful, wildlife-friendly spaces.

Encouraging biodiversity is key. This might mean planting for a long flowering season to support bees and butterflies, leaving seed heads for birds, creating layered planting for cover, or allowing parts of a garden to be a little wilder where appropriate. Even small changes can make a meaningful difference.

Tree and Hedge Planting

We provide advice and a complete supply and planting service for trees and hedges, helping you choose the right plants for your garden, soil, and long term goals.

From single specimen trees and integrated planting designs to native woodland schemes, we source a wide range of trees to enhance both beauty and biodiversity.

Hedge planting  is another specialism, including native hedging for wildlife, fruiting hedges and ornamental or formal hedges for structure and privacy. We also help with pleached hedges, a great way to achieve instant privacy and screening.

Trees and hedges are central to sustainable gardening, supporting wildlife, improving soil, providing shelter and shade, and adding lasting character to a garden.

We also advise on fruit trees including restoration, pruning, planning and planting small (or larger!) orchards, combining productivity with wider wildlife value.

 Irrigation Systems

We offer design, installation and maintenance of irrigation systems for both existing gardens and new planting schemes. With experience retrofitting systems into established gardens as well as installing irrigation for newly designed schemes, we can advise on the most efficient and appropriate setup for each space.

We source, supply and install reliable systems tailored to your garden’s layout — from simple solutions for borders and containers to more comprehensive systems for larger or more complex schemes.

Well-designed irrigation helps plants establish successfully, reduces time spent watering and minimises water waste. Systems can be seasonally adjusted, shut down over winter and programmed to water while clients are away.

We provide irrigation as a stand alone service and are happy to supply a separate, itemised quote independent of other garden work.

Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables

We’re passionate about helping people grow their own food — our own gardening journey began on an allotment! We offer a complete hands-on service, from the first seed orders through to harvest, guiding and supporting you at every stage with practical advice and expert help.

We can help to:

  • Plan your plot, raised beds or kitchen garden

  • Select seeds, onion and garlic sets, seed potatoes and everything else you’ll need

  • Plan, advise on and support all aspects of soft fruit and fruit tree growing

  • Ensure a productive growing season with a steady supply of crops

We also provide practical guidance on watering and efficient irrigation, as well as advice on choosing and setting up the right greenhouse for your garden, including automated watering systems.

Whether you’d like to make better use of your garden with a simple veg plot, build and plant raised beds, or develop a fully realised kitchen garden, we can be there every step of the way. Together, we can transform your outdoor space into a productive, enjoyable place where you can grow, cook and eat your own food.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show

This year will be our 7th year working at the Chelsea Flower Show. Previous years have involved implementing planting for a large scale exhibition stand. Excitingly this year we will be working with two designers on their first balcony garden for the RHS.
